At Glencoe Psych Services, we specialize in providing comprehensive academic and behavioral psychoeducational assessments. If you have concerns about your child's learning and development, discover how we can help you help your child.
With virtual assessment, your child can complete their evaluation from the comfort of your home. All communication and consultation can be completed at your convenience.
At Glencoe Psych Services, we understand the need for flexibility to accommodate busy families. With our virtual assessment model, afternoon and evening appointments are available.
Telehealth and virtual assessment have filled the gap for students who otherwise would not have had access to services for many years. Parents may now choose a school psychologist anywhere in the state without the need to travel to an office.
Testing for academic concerns can take up to 3 hours while behavioral concerns can take up to 5 hours, necessitating children to miss school and parents to miss work. With virtual assessments, appointments can be flexible and at a time convenient to your family's needs.
Virtual testing sessions will occur via Microsoft Teams. Any written materials will be mailed to you with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Assessment material will be shared on-screen and your child will either provide a verbal answer or point with their mouse using remote control.
An internet connection and a computer with a mouse are all you need! It is recommended that your child is in a quiet location in your home without interruptions during the virtual assessment. Younger children may need you to sit with them for assistance. Written materials will require a pencil.
The length of time required for an assessment depends on what your concerns are. An intellectual assessment only will take approximately 1 hour. Academic concerns will require up to 3 hours. Behavioral assessment will require up to 5 hours. Another benefit of virtual assessment is the flexibility to divide this time between multiple sessions.
Fees vary depending on areas assessed. Please contact us for details and to discuss your concerns.
Limited availability for in-person assessment is available during normal business hours in the Lake Mary, FL area for an additional fee.
Insurance does not typically cover psychoeducational assessments. Itemized billing is available if you choose to submit for reimbursement.
Virtual assessment is appropriate for any child who can use a mouse. For younger children, an adult may need to help facilitate the assessment in terms of navigating the screen.
Virtual intellectual assessments for children 5 and under have not been fully researched. It is recommended that you schedule an in-person appointment for children of this age.
